The Martial Arts have long been shrouded in mystery and been greatly misunderstood by the majority of people. Simply mention the word "Karate" in a crowd and someone will be thinking of a guys only club where macho men stand around flexing their muscles in front of a mirror while breaking bricks over their heads.

Ethereal Arts is committed to teaching the "Science of Self Defense." In other words, Kenpo Karate is not a force against force contest where the strongest wins. The "Science of Self Defense" is in the understanding of angles and positions and using the right tool for the job. Karate is not just for the big nor is it for only the strong. Kenpo is for anyone large or small, young or old, and even people that may be overweight or have an old injury. Since Kenpo is an "intelligence" art, it can be tailored to the individual.

Learn life skills that are not just for fighting. Yes, you will be learning strikes, throws, pressure points, and joint locks but you will also be learning to control your fears and overcome doubts, to find your self-confidence. Learn to get respect by first giving it, and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow students by becoming part of a group that is working toward the same goals.

Ethereal Arts is offering one free week of Kenpo Karate classes and a free uniform to students that enroll in the school at the end of the free trial period.

Below are some of the frequently asked questions about Ethereal Arts

• "Other schools only offer 2 or 3 classes a week. Can I  train more  or less than that if I want to?   (Yes, you can choose up to 5 classes per week in Kenpo or 2 classes per week in Tai Chi)

• "What about other arts? Do you offer more than one?" (Yes, we offer 7 including Yoga as well as NIA.)

• "Do you take beginners?" (Yes, all levels of students are welcome. Even people from other styles of martial arts.)

• "Do you teach adults or kids?" (Both. each age group has its own class.)

• "Is it safe for me / my child?" (Yes, both safe and fun. come in and take a free class, meet the staff and other students. see for yourself.)

• "I see that you teach weapons. Will my child be learning weapons?' (Weapons are only taught to blue belt and up, and only with parental permission. Adults may choose to take a weapons class at any rank.)

• "My interest is more fun and exercise than martial arts." (While we take our training seriously we also like to have fun, in fact many students become friends while training here.)

• "Other schools make you sign a contract for six months to a year. Do you have contracts?" (No. There are no timed contracts. No sign up fees. No yearly dues. No association fees.)

• "How much does it cost? (Kenpo is $115 a month. That includes up to 5 classes every week for adults and up to 6 classes every week for kids. Tai Chi is $60 a month for 1 class per week and $70 for 2 classes per week.)

Of course this is only a small list of questions from students. People want to know if we are professional and qualified instructors. They want to know if / how we are better than some other school and how will the martial arts help me? These decisions are up to you.
